Vincent Zottola, Jr.

Chief Operating Officer

Mr., Zottola leads the daily operations of a team of professional consultants. Vincent Zottola has 30 years of consulting experience in quality, environmental and safety management systems development and implementation. He has experience working as a Director of Quality and as an ISO 9000 management representative. He has successfully implemented over 100 ISO 9000 programs. He launched Tri-State Quality Systems (TQS) in 1992.

Mr. Zottola has assisted over 200 clients with the implementation of quality, safety, environmental and NQA-1 management systems. He has conducted more than 100 quality and environmental system audits. He has trained more than 3,000 management and hourly personnel in continuous process improvement, team building, problem solving, SPC, JIT, customer requirement definition and ISO 9000 quality assurance requirements. Has led numerous operation improvement and TQM engagements for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Mr. Zottola has assisted clients with the development and implementation of ISO 14000 environmental management and numerous health and safety management systems

Industrial clients include Alstom, Converteam, Medrad, Aerotech, Accro Tool, SKC, Watson Standard, Williams and Company, Thermal Transfer, General Electric, Libby Owens Ford, Hehr International and Pennwalt, URS. GAI Consultants, Paul Rizzo & Associates, the EADS Group, Trans Associates, Government clients include The Port Authority of Allegheny County, PENNDOT, NASA, the U.S. Postal Service, Naval Industrial Operations, GNMA, the Defense Logistics Agency and the FDA.

Mr. Zottola is a Certified ISO Lead Auditor. He has a degree in Business Administration and Master's in Industrial Relations. He has served as a committee chairperson for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Society for Quality. He has instructed the ISO 9000 implementation course for ASQ. Mr. Zottola has written and published articles and workbooks on ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. His works have been published by CEEM, Irwin Publishing, SMC and ASQ.

Bruce A. Muretisch

Project Manager

Bruce Muretisch is a project manager for TQS in the areas of quality and environmental management, and NQA-1. His experience includes over 28 years in project/design management of OEM engineered products and equipment, as well as implementation management and responsibilities for two successful multi-site ISO 9001 registered Quality Management Systems. Bruce is an NQA-1 Lead Auditor and has conducted numous NQA-1 workshops and on-site implementation programs. He has performed numerous gap assessments and internal audits. Some of his clients include: Trans Associates, GAI Consultants, American Beverage, RailPower Hybrid Technologies, Paul Rizzo and Associates, Allison Custom Fabrication, Weatherford, Bacharach, Watson Standard and Aerotech.

Positions held with some former companies such as DBT, Ingersoll-Rand, Swanson Plating, and Portec Inc. include, Manager of Special Projects (Quality Management Systems), Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, Project Manager and Technical Sales Engineer.

Mr. Muretisch, as Manager of Special Projects for DBT, a worldwide leader in coal mining machinery, has led the efforts in attaining two ISO 9001 registrations. The last of which was for 18 facilities in 2003. In that position, he coordinated and led numerous brainstorming sessions for the education of over 100 management, salary and hourly personnel in skills of process mapping, analysis and continuous improvement techniques. Other training conducted included internal auditing and ISO 9001 overview. Mr. Muretisch has served as Management Representative and is experienced in developing QA Manuals, key and supporting process procedures and work instructions.

His education and training completed during his professional career include Engineering (Penn State University), Mechanical Design (Triangle Institute), RAB & NQA-1 Lead Auditor Training, ISO 9001 Implementation, Project Multi-tasking, Communication, Technical Writing, Specialized Component Design, Welding, 3-D modeling, Continuous Improvement Techniques and Quality Management Systems.

Thomas A. McLaughlin

Project Manager

Tom McLaughlin is a project manager for TQS. He has over 30 years of quality experience and is a project manager for Tri-State Quality Systems in the areas of Quality Management, Continuous Improvement and Quality System Development. He was a Vice President and Account Executive with Philip Crosby Associates, and attended Dr. Deming's only open seminar for consultants. Prior to this he held positions as the Director of Quality Assurance for the Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. and National Steel Corporation.

Mr. McLaughlin has assisted many companies achieve ISO 9000, QS-9000, ISO 14000, and ISO 17025 and ISO/TS 16949 certifications. He has developed courses for auditor and lead auditor training, trained over 1,000 management and hourly personnel as auditors, and conducted at least 25 audits to these standards. He has also developed, trained and facilitated teams in Total Quality Management, Problem Solving, Cost of Quality, Process Management, and Statistical Process Control. He has conducted numerous public workshops in the areas of Quality System Development, Internal Auditing and Continuous Improvement. He has assisted in the development of a quality plan guideline training manual for the Stage II LRT Project for the Port Authority of Allegheny County.

Some clients include: URS and the Port Authority of Allegheny County, Timken, USX Minnesota Ore Operations, Globe Industries, Chrome Deposit Corporation, Armco, Caparo Steel, Ritter Engineering, Holbrook Tool, Ort Tool & Die, Hynes Industries, the Society of Automotive Engineers, Mobay, Neville Chemical, Sonoco Products, Sun Star, Matthews International, Mobay, Whirlpool, British Aerospace, Ferranti Defense, Corning Glass, Dow Corning, Carolina Freight, General Tire, New York Telephone, Shell Oil, H.B. Fuller, St. Regis Container, International Paper, Hartzell, and K-S-H Plastics. He is currently the Quality Assurance representative for Alstom Transmission and Distribution System's Egyptian Electrical Holding Company Reactive Compensation project.

Mr. McLaughlin has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in Engineering, with a Management Science major from the University of Dayton. He is a Certified Quality Engineer - American Society for Quality and a RAB Certified Quality Management System Lead Auditor.

Scott M. Raymond

EHS Project Manager

Mr. Raymond serves as a Safety and Environmental project manager for TQS He has over 25 years of experience developing environmental, health and safety programs for businesses and industry. Programs include audits, written health & safety plans, and training. Primary emphasis on Identification of environmental Aspects and Impacts, Risk/Significance assessments, hazard communication, energy control planning, personal protective equipment, and fire safety programs.

Scott performs audits in areas such as compliance with air quality, solid and hazardous waste, employee/community right to know, storm water, and water quality regulations; sedimentation and erosion control; training; and other environmental/natural resource fields for utilities, industrial facilities, commercial development groups, and local governmental agencies.

Supervised teams of scientists and engineers in the preparation of a wide variety of reports and permits. Included devising compliance strategies, developing work scopes, management of subcontractors, use of pert/critical path management methods, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking of variances. Coordinated permitting and compliance activities from divisional headquarters of a Fortune 500 company. Responsibilities included acquisition of all environmental permits for operations and establishment of compliance procedures.

Performed over 20 environmental assessments relating to acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate for both buyers and sellers. Trained management and front line personnel on environmental programs, safe handling of hazardous materials, and other areas relating to environmental protection matters.

Established and operated toll-free hotline for hazardous waste generators in Pennsylvania. Disseminated information regarding waste minimization, regulatory compliance, treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes. Organized and instituted clearinghouse for waste minimization information. Included newsletter, technical publications, bibliographies, data, and related materials.

Speaker/Moderator - at over 30 regulatory compliance, and waste management, and other environmental, seminars, conferences, meetings, and panel discussions. Instructor for portions of the 40-hour OSHA Health and Safety Course for hazardous waste workers.

Key clients include: plastics, metal fabricating, healthcare, automotive, construction, sawmills, and woodworking operations.

Lisa Zottola

Lisa Zottola co-founded Tri-State Quality Systems (TQS) in 1992, after spending over ten years in progressive management and administrative positions in the pharmaceutical, computer services, and airlines industries. As President, Ms. Zottola oversees the long-term performance of the practice, with specific responsibilities in the following areas: financial management and planning, sales and marketing, business and organizational development, client interface, and human resources. Additional responsibilities include contract negotiation and sales & marketing presentations and related outreach. As a result of Ms. Zottola's leadership and strong client orientation, TQS has consistently increased revenues and market share, emerging as a leading provider of consulting services in quality systems, industrial health & safety, environmental management systems, and continuous improvement consulting services.

As a technical writer, Ms. Zottola gained significant experience with procedure and work instruction development through group facilitation and enduser/operator interaction. Ms. Zottola also has an established track record in sales & marketing and customer service. As a regional sales representative for a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, Ms. Zottola was responsible for territory establishment, market research, customer development, strategy implementation, and sales management initiatives. Ms. Zottola's efforts lead to the establishment of one of the fastest growing territories in the U.S., generating over $2.5M in annual sales. Ms. Zottola has also held positions in customer service with American Airlines, and has also worked in several market research and analysis positions.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University majoring in Business Logistics, Ms. Zottola has also received continuing education in business administration, policy development, marketing, and sales management.

Ms. Zottola is a certified Internal Quality Auditor and has successfully completed the ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor Transition Course.

Sharon Michelangeli

Sales and Marketing Assistant

Mrs. Michelangeli has over 23 years of experience in the administrative field. She has worked for a local manufacturing firm as a Production/Quality Assurance Assistant to provide assistance in achieving ISO 9001 certification. She was responsible for maintaining a calibration/preventive maintenance database and modifying work instructions. In addition, Sharon has experience as an Internal Auditor, Safety Committee Member and was the Quality Assurance Assistant for an Engineering company. Responsibilities included maintaining the company's quality procedures and work instructions then posting to the company intranet.

Sharon also has experience in human resources, payroll processing and accounting.

She is responsible for the marketing and scheduling of training seminars, maintaining mailing & email databases, and office administration at TQS, Inc.

Mrs. Michelangeli has an Associate Degree in Specialized Business/Accounting/Computer Programming. In addition, she has also received continuing education at the University of Pittsburgh for various computer courses.
